Lithology and Thickness

The Quartzites de Hamra Fm. is made entirely of sandstones (Klett, 2000). Equivalent to the lower part of the Hamra Fm of the Illizi Basin and lower part of the Hawaz Fm (Haouaz Fm) of the Ghadames Basin (Klett, 2000).

Lower contact

It conformably overlies the Gres de’El Atchane Fm.

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Gres de Ouargla Fm.
